My name is Beverley McWilliams, and I'm a multiple award-winning children's writer based in South Australia. I love to write across the genres and have a passion for stories based on non-fiction and animals. My historical middle-grade novel 'Spies in the Sky' published by Pantera Press won The ARA Historical Novel Prize 2024, was shortlisted for The Readings Prize and longlisted for the Booklinks Award for Historical Fiction. My recent picture book 'Willow's Gumboots' published by MidnightSun and illustrated by Helene Magisson won the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year 2025 and was a Children’s Book Council of Australia notable book. My non-fiction picture book 'Cassowary Dad' was recently released with CSIRO Publishing. I am a regular contributor to The School Magazine, Australia’s longest-running literary publication for children. I am a member of The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) and Co-regional coordinator for The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators SA branch (SCBWI).
